From a wax-coated bottle, this brew is seriously strong, flavorful, and intense. The color is black, with some crimson highlights around the edges if held to strong light. It is almost still….very little carbonation. The aroma is thick with cherry, cocoa, and bourbon. Complexity. The taste is boozy, syrupy sweet, and enough bitterness to hold off the cloying sensation….for a while. This is a big beer, a sipping beer, and an enjoyable beer.
