Draft at brewery. Light and clean. Pale golden pour, head fades, could use a bit more character., Taste is as expected, light, grainy, minor bitterness. In the ballpark, but not a standout.

an easy drinking lighter beer in here, pretty well made, minimal, not as flavorful as their pils to me, and not quite as obviously german as i like the style to be in terms of classic malt and yeast profiles, everything just seems a little tame to me, but it does have the crisp and refreshing part dialed in really well, and the kolsch style has always been almost as much about mouthfeel as flavor for me, so i like it, and i find myself pounding the pint down pretty rapidly, even after i already have a couple of beers in me. not all the way clear but close, pale yellow, the right color for the style, and with awesome carbonation and head retention. it smells like minerals, pennies, crackery pale malt, and some european lager yeast or something, not as specifically kolsch to me, but in the right family. flavor is about the same, but the finish is aided along by some herbal hop bitterness and i think it helps add some needed depth to this. it has a clean swallow, just a little finishing element from the yeast, but its dry and bubbly and really quite thirst quenching and easy down. nothing to get too excited about here, but for all the lackluster american made kolsch types out there, its nice to have one that isnt flawed in any significant way, and to be able to go pack pint after pint...
