i believe they are calling this oracle amber now, same beer i am assuming as it would be odd to have two basic ambers in production at the same time, this might be a little lighter and cleaner under this name, but it is what they are presenting now as their amber, and its excellent beer, with more contribution from both yeast and hops than most of these have, still in line with style guidelines and rather classic, but with just enough intrigue to be entertaining through the whole pint, and i like it being just a big deeper on the malt without being heavy. pretty deep copper color to it, frothy headed, and with some lace as it drinks, off from perfect clarity but it looks good anyway. nose and taste of almond, bread crusts, toffee, wood, and light pine, the malt is well layered and not too sweet despite holding that honey graham cracker character, and there is some on the swallow bitterness but the beer isnt hoppy per se. really dig the smoothness, this feels almost elegant. medium bodied but very soft, could be some wheat in the mix. i dont drink beer from clairvoyant often enough to comment on them as a whole, but this seemed better overall than i really remember their stuff being, a great example of the style and it has me eager to give them a closer look. excellent and versatile food beer as well! under the name oracle, this is better than its ratings here.

Draft at brewery. Medium amber, with a small, lasting head. Light malty aroma, toasty. Big malty flavors, finishes very dry. A bit sweet at first, but decent.
