maybe actually named mondo not mando, but not a bad pale ale either way, neat to be seeing some kegs from these guys emerging around town in recent months. this is clear and orange tinted, a little richer looking on the grain side than is trendy right now, especially without any haze, but i like the looks of this, nice radiance and an active white head. it smells bright and citrusy on the hops, plenty bitter, and has a fuller biscuity and toasted complexion to the malt. its balanced and flavorful, if samey and unexciting in the flavor, i like the freshness and boldness of the hops, maybe close to the ipa fence, and i get some orange peel nuance as it warms a bit, maybe a tad bit of honey sweetness too, it comes together well, but there is nothing really remarkable about it, could have come from any decently competent brewery, and i tend to look for a little more in the hoppy stuff these days, but the objective quality is solid. not sure who this beer is for, maybe the sierra nevada drinker, sort of a toned down version of that, without the memorable cascade bite. good not great. better in a food beer context, salty and umami for me did the trick.

On-tap in Meridian; leans more English in my opinion - malty and bready, touch of citrus character, some caramel, minor bitterness, smooth and clean.

16oz crowler from brewery. Clear, bright golden pour, thick, fluffy head leaves lacing all the way down the glass. Aroma is malty and hoppy, with a trace of mandarin. Taste also features the mandarin, again light, offering a light citrusy kiss to the hop profile. Solid APA with a light citrusy presence.
