I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a clear golden with no head and no lace. The scent had bitter citrus hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with bitter citrus hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Pours a hazy pale yellow. Thin foam. Slight tropical aroma. Too much carbonation. Light tropical body. Citrus fades to a sour finish. Not bad but the overcarbonation ruins it for me.

16oz can from Consumers Beverage. Hazy pale golden, small frothy head. Very unassuming for a DIPA. I had to check to see if it needed to be mixed up, and maybe all the good stuff was in sediment. One of the lightest DIPAs I've tried. Aroma is light bready malts and a hint of citrus. Taste also brings mild citrusy flavors with some biscuit malts behind. Waiting for the 8.5% ABV to catch up to me. This is entirely crushable.

2 month old can, poured cold to a tulip glass. Straw yellow color. Small bubbly head that faded into oblivion. No aroma, despite sticking the schnozz deep in the glass. First sips are just bad. Bitter, but not like an IPA IBU sort of way...just harsh. Nothing rounds out the first reaction. No discernible malt or juice or pine or dankness or anything. Mouthfeel is thin to medium, with no redeeming lushness or creaminess or cleansing. I generally don’t rate so lowly, but this is as bad if not worse as the god awful peanut butter thing from Ellicottville Brewing. It was a literal drain pour, and there’s three more pints left. It wasn’t exactly cheap, so that much more disappointing. I would never buy this again.

So it was a typical day in beautiful downtown Troy Ny. I had managed to get myself up and dressed (oh what a night ! ),made my way down stairs and fixed breakfast. Kaptin Krunch and orange juice (same bowl).checked my calendar and messages, grabbed my fedora and strode out the front door.
As I descended the the stairs the lights went out .(cold cocked again dang it).!
When I came to I was in the back of a moving van ,hands cuffed, legs tied, head throbbing and indigestion (shouldn't have mixed the kaptin with OJ). Abruptly the van came to a stop and I was dragged out and the cuffs removed. The masked man before me then raised his hand and... ... ...
Handed me a 16 oz can of
stash hero from Buried Acorn. Bought from ELIXIR 16(in beautiful downtown Troy NY).
Oh dang there I go again, got to remember to separate my book writing and my reviews!
L-hazy light yellow-straw color, thin half finger of large bubble off white head, dissipates quickly into small islands with no lace.
S- soft smell of pineapple, some flowers, very little aroma to speak of.
T-funky pineapple taste, definitely double dry hopped, bite on the tongue of bitter orange zest, finishes mild and sweet in the throat.
F- carbonation is flat, small fizz on the tongue, very smooth on the back of the throat for a high ABV beer.
OA- not exactly a beer I'd look for again but if you're buying I'll take one!

Double IPA the can said. Pretty can too - crazy Unicorn Dragon with Zebra coat ridden by some funky Leprechaun dude blasting pink fire at a ray gun wielding Squirrel protecting his "stash" of gold coins and Hop cones.
High marks for the can art but the good grades end there for me.
Murky beyond any idea of cloudy. The gray head that forms in the 12 oz tulip slips quickly to nuthin. Nary a whisp of foam to be seen. If it's carbonated is a mystery - certainly doesn't feel like it on the tongue.
Does it taste like beer? Yeah another greasy, super citrus "if I wanted a screwdriver I'd have ordered one" over hopped IPA - get in line it's a long one. Is it pleasant? Not really unless you just want to pound an 8% beer that tastes like vodka and OJ for the buzz . No real character or unique combination of flavor, no balance at all , no pretty liquid to look at no nose to set it apart from a 1000 other murky NEIPA's found in stores and 2-4 on tap at breweries boasting exclusive hops from NZ or Yakima that all just taste like a bad screwdriver.
The finish leaves a nice hop aftertaste but overall the label is by far the best thing about this one.
Don't judge a book by it;s cover Dad always said.

Hazy maize yellow with a short but creamy white head.
Taste is soft wheat, vanilla and citrus with accents of cannabis in the frothy medium body that finishes dry.

Tried to pour a pint can "canned on 5/29/19" into a shaker glass, but got so much explosive head right away that it took about 5 minutes to sneak about 12 ounces in there under a huge fluffy incredibly persistent head. I'd say this can was overcarbonated, but the mouthfeel was not too fizzy after waiting for the difficult pour. The can graphics show a screaming squirrel defending his acorn stash with a ray-gun pointed at a zebra fire-breathing dragon with a leprechaun on its back under a double rainbow. Apparently a lot of violence involved here! I'd give the "look" score more if it weren't so hard to pour this DIPA. Smell is floral and yeasty. Color is a completely opaque turbid SRM 5 aka creamsicle orange. Sticky lacing as lacy as you can get. The can claims this Stash Hero is "dry hopped with a furry amount of Ahtanum, Hallertau Blanc, and Mandarina Bavaria," but doesn't explain where they get the funky farmhouse yeast contributing considerably to the extremely flavorful taste. Mouthfeel is a bit soft and fuzzy for me; maybe there are oats and wheat in this? The 8.5% ethanol is totally buried, the hops not quite bitter enough but returning in a nice persistent aftertaste. This was my first taste of a pretty good Syracuse product beautifully canned perhaps a day or two too soon. Will try Buried Acorn brews again, for sure.

Appearance - Pours pretty hazy deep burnt orange color with fluffy off white almost tan head. Lost of sticky lacing around the glass.
Aroma - Sweet tangerine, pineapple, citrus peel, grapefruit, mild floral hops. mostly ripe tropical fruit with a hint of malt.
Taste - taste follows the nose well. Lots of overly ripe pineapple, mango and tangerine. Up front is citrus peel and grapefruit the sweet fruit comes in more toward the middle to the end. Nice balance of sweet and bitter.
Feel - Medium bodied well carbonated maybe a hint of heat from the alcohol.
Overall - Pretty impressed with how well the alcohol is hidden. Great job balancing the flavors and not making this overly sweet.
