another phenomenal sour in this bottled lineup from these guys, stunning packaging on them all, thankful to have been able to drink this. a barrel aged golden sour done with ginger and lemongrass, and its not subtle, which ordinarily would be a turnoff, but the overall quality is so high here, and the ingredients are so natural, things just pop in a glorious synergy, lemongrass in front of ginger, extremely sour overall, but almost addicting because of the flavor intensity and subtle honey sweetness that balances the pucker so well. i get sharp lemon ring in here, the tropical lemongrass as natural as can be, and the earthy spicy of the fresh ginger. some oak tannins here, white wine qualities as well, and just a little funk that keeps the fermentation profile from being too straightforward. its really sharp, intensely sour, but there is just enough wood and malt to make this drinkable, i can hardly set my glass down. its well refined, kind of oddly tropical with the lemongrass, almost a thai beach vibe to this, and rather complex as they go, definitely unique. i have been super impressed with the sours these guys do, and am stoked that i have a couple of others in the cellar to drink still. this is gorgeous as a summer sipper, robust as can be, but really delicious. nice textures here too even with how sour it is, very well done!
