Poured from a 12 oz amber bottle to a Pilz glass at fridge temp. Pulled from a 6-pack purchased cold last week for $11.99. I found no dating on the bottles or the carrier.
This beer has a deep gold, crystal clear body. Many continuously rising bubbles are hypnotizing. A micro-bubble slightly-off-white head puts on a topographical display and laces generously with wide and narrow rings.
The aroma is of bread or crackers but with a pungent note.
Taste is clean and quite hoppy. Bread in the front, slight citrus rind middle and a slight sweetening on the finish.
The mouthfeel is light and carbonation is just right.
For some reason I don’t drink many Vienna Lagers. My memory is clouded with regard to this style by SA Boston Lager. This East Rock version is significantly better in my opinion. An excellent beer. Probably not as sweet as the BA style description states, but that is what I like about it.

I think this is the pick of what I've had from East Rock, and one of the best CT viennas I've had. From the 12 oz can from a mix pack. Nice clean and crisp at the front, lots of bready malt and the middle lingers for ages. Finish is wheat/brown bread, hints of caramel/candy and some bitter pithy malted barley. Like the outside husk really. It's a delicious showing. I've had quite a few CT vienna lagers, I remember an impressive one from Newpark, could be recency but this beats that.

Pours a beautiful gold just leaning towards amber. Nice big dense fluffy white head that lingers for quite some time, tiny splotches of lacing.
Aroma is grainy, bread crusty, doughy and a minor floral note.
Taste is much like the nose and leans mainly towards the grainy bread. It maintains some of the dough aspects as well and that floral note is still there as well.
Great mouthfeel, it’s as refreshing as cold water. Great soft non prickly carbonation, dry finish, pretty much zero bitterness.
My first East Rock beer, having had this one I really look forward to trying their other lagers in my fridge.

Sampling a cold 12 oz short bottle poured into my beer mug. The beer pours a fairly clear copper hue with some lazy streams of carbonation rising towards the surface.
A beige colored fizzy head foams up 1 cm on the pour and quickly settles to a sturdy surface layer.
The aroma on this beer is some toasted caramel and grainy cereal notes, definitely malt forward but not overpowering or robust. Not really any hop character to make note of on the nose.
First sip reveals a light to medium body with crisp texture and fine prickly carbonation. Makes for a bit of a sharpness on the physical traits for this beer. But it is still very drinkable and goes down easy.
Flavor is what I expect and also what the nose predicts. I get some toasty grains and bread note with a bit of caramel, but not really sweet or candy like. There is a bit of a lemony note in the middle and then the beer dries out completely on the swallow with a faint lingering bitterness.
No hint of the ABV and this one drinks really nice and easy on a relaxing July evening. A solid lager brewery right here in New Haven.
