Im sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into my .5L dimple mug. Picked up the cans at the brewery a few weeks ago.
the beer pours a bright clear copper to light gold color, maybe actually bronze color? A frothy bleached white head foams up less than .5 cm and fades to the thinnest of edge layers quickly after the pour. Some lazy streams of carbonation rise to the surface but do not replenish the foam.
The aroma on this beer is clean and light with hints of grainy malt and some husky notes as well. I do get a little spicy hop character too, but overall the nose is fairly mild.
The first sip reveals a light and crisp textured body with fine carbonation that gently rolls across my palate. The carbonation doesnt even bubble up much when beer is swirled in my mouth.
Flavor is similar to the nose. I get some light lemon notes which rolls to some grainy and fruity malt. Some white grape I think and a little general sweetness, but the finish moves to a little spicy note of black pepper. Not boozy, but the flavor. This is a clean and balanced lager and would be easy to drink several of these at a picnic or at the beach or poolside (cans for the win!)
Im glad to have tried this one and remain happy with everything I have tried from East Rock so far.

L: Pours a pale gold color with a light haze. A gentle pour yields a finger of fine, white head that quickly dissipates to a 3 mm ring around the glass with an insubstantial film of head in the interior. As the beer goes down it leaves a light spotty lacing on the glass.
S: I get light citrus, grassy notes, light notes of spice, some tangy yeast character, and a bit of grainy malt character
T: Following the nose I get lemon, fresh cut grass, a bit of spice, a light yeasty sourness that comes in mid palate, a bit of grainy malt character that lends a touch of sweetness, and a delicate bitterness on the finish.
F: This one has a medium-light body with medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is a bit creamy (compared to a helles that is) with a nice dry finish.
O: I like it. A nice take on the style and one that makes me want to try more of their lagers. Recommended!
