On draught at the brewery. Pint pour served in a plastic cup. It’s a dirty, opaque tangerine with a thin, ecru-colored head and modest film of lacing. The appearance is redeemed by the smell: Bold tangerine, pineapple, and ripe honeydew with a whiff of earthy malt. The taste is big and fruity with ripe melon and pineapple over a dank, earthy, grassy malt base with subtle pine sap and moderately clean bitterness. This ale has a nice thick, creamy feel, and the 8.4% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, this is a very enjoyable DIPA which ought to be canned.

Had on tap at the Apex, NC, taproom in December 2021. Double IPA is one of my favorite styles, and this was a very good one. I especially thought the tasty blend of hops and malt flavors was above-average for the style. Nicely done!

Solid west-coast style DIPA brewed in NC! Look, Smell, Taste, and Feel is true to the style developed in Temecula, Ca. Glad to know someone can brew something this good here on the “left-coast”!
Here’s what their website states; “This double IPA started as an imperial version of our Here Be Dragons IPA. With the benefit of evolution, it’s now its own animal. This is a ferociously hopped and warming Juicy IPA for you to slay”.
