Visited in 7/19/24

Have been wanting to visit this brewpub for several years and finally made it, and WOW! If you are anywhere close to Shy Bear, it is definitely worth the side trip. Location is inviting. The owners have spent much time, effort and expense to make their brewpub establishment top notch.

The selection of beer variety is some of the best we've seen. The written descriptions of each beer is very detailed and often includes the personal story behind each one. The night we were there, the owners (husband and wife) were freely walking around and engaging with all the patrons. That has NEVER happened to us before. Jason visited or table several times and we freely discussed his beers and we enjoyed his takes on the flavors and reasoning behind why he brewed each beer like he did. Even his interaction with his staff was very professional and congenial.

HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend a visit! Amazing beer, amazing food, awesome environment!

stopped in here on my drive out to Raystown Lake to camp. Right near the conjunction of Routes 22/322 and 522. They had a small building with indoor seating, to-go beer, and then an outdoor seating area, and a stage for a band that was playing. Full kitchen but I was just stopping to pick up some to go beers to drink at my campsite. Good selection of styles of beer, and I enjoyed all of them.

Shy Bear is a fairly large 10 barrel brewpub with a good sized bar and dining room as well as additional seating in a beautiful area outside. It's quite nicely done and you can clearly see that they've spent a lot of money doing it.

The beer menu is varied with 16 taps and includes pilsners and other lagers, pale ales, IPAs, brown ales, stouts, fruited beers, Belgian styles, and more. Everything that I've tasted has been very good.

The food includes appetizers, tacos, salads, burgers & sandwiches, and desserts. Some highlights include Thai Spring Rolls ($10), Ahi Tuna Crisps ($16), Spanish Chorizo Tacos ($15), Crab Cake Tacos ($17), Cheesesteak ($16), Vegan Chili Burger ($16), Rainbow Trout ($24), and New York Strip ($29). Apart from the variety the food is quite good as well.

Finally, the service is great. Everyone is friendly and wants to you have a great time.
