Chickadee is a sour beer brewed for spring and summer days but enjoyable all year-round. It’s light, tart, and low in alcohol.
Using 2-row barley, white wheat, and munich malts, Chickadee has a pillowy softness from a generous helping of flaked oats. It’s soured with Lactobacillus and fermented with a clean American ale yeast. Post-Fermentation it’s lightly dry-hopped with Cascade, Motueka, or other hop styles that exhibit tropical fruit flavors and aromas.

16oz can. No dating information found.
Partly cloudy, deep gold colored body. One finger of dirty white head quickly dissipates but leaves an active surface storm and very thin ring. No lacing.
Aroma of peach, lemon, and toasted bready malts.
Taste is tart, with flavors of lemon, peach, toasted bread malts, lactic acid, and slight funk esters.
Medium mouthfeel. Very dry finish, with a soft texture. No bitterness, no burn. Very good carbonation.
Burps arise when drinking this one.

On draft at Barley's Overland Park. Poured a clear, golden color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of tart lemon, wheat and yeastiness. Sweet fruity taste with a fairly tart and acidic bite. Crisp and sharp.
