Pours black with a heavy stout like look. Head is two fingers of dense off-white foam. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts out front with herbal and grassy hops adding depth and bitterness to the nose. Flavor profile is more hops out front than the nose, though the bulk of the hop presence is at the finish just like the nose. Herbal, resin, and grassy hops sandwich roasty and toasty malts. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a fuzzy, neppy texture like a thick blanket. Overall, forward dark malt notes blend well with sticky, resinous hops.

On draft. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, toffee and resin. Nice roasted malt taste with coffee, chocolate and a piney bitterness.
