Pours black with two fingers of frothy khaki foam. Visible caramel colored sediment at the bottom, which looks akin to cookies dipped once too many times in coffee. Aroma is roasty, toasty, biscuity, bready, and caramel malts. Splendid simplicity with a focus on smooth malts. It has a light sweetness at the end, but is never sugary. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, nutty, earthy, caramel, and bready malts. It leans into the earthy and caramel notes big time mid-song. It has a flowing, smooth quality to it, hitting each note in sequence without gaps or chunky changes in volume. Coffee and chocolate come on more as the beer warms, shifting the malt focus towards the back. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a glassy watery effervescence. Overall, a smooth induction of malts with a focus on dark. It's smooth through every step, making it a wonderfully sippable, non-fussy porter.
