It's not often that my girlfriend tells me about a brewery in our area that I've never heard of, much less urges me to go.
Bluebird is the single most beautiful brewery I've seen in California. True it's really a brewpub and the brewing system is quite small - maybe a 7bbl or a 10bbl, but it is simply magnificent in there.
I got to meet Noah the brewer and he was very cool. I later learned that he has been brewing for a long time and has quite a fabled history including once winning brewer of the year at GABF.
The beers were even better than I had hoped they would be. I'm a bit of a belgian beer snob and wasn't sure this place would pull it off but they did and they do.
The food was excellent. Honestly, the best fries I've ever had in my life, my girl loved the cocktails, and we both ate musslels, steak frites and grilled bread to soak up all the suds.
Super excited to have these guys so close in the SFV.
Update - same brewers own a brewpub on West Pico called Stalking Horse. I'm going tonight!
