To start with; this beer is still available! I bought this bottle a few months ago when i was at this brewery in the southers part of Holland. If you ever are in the south of Holland this is a nice place to go to, not far from Koningshoeven.

Poured this beer in my Struise glass. Almost got a gusher but i was in time to pour it in the glass. Very big head. Moccacoloured head and a darkbrown fluid with nice carbonation.

Faste is reasonable with some coffeenotes. The carbonation is not present when you start to drink this beer. The alcohol is very well hidden.

I tried this beer on the local PINT tasting evening in October 2011. All the beer is blind tested.

A - A hazy white/yellow beer with a white head (one finger thick), beautiful constancy.

S - A sweet hoppy smell, malts, somewhat similar to Hoegaarden white beer.

T - The beer is a bit sour and definitely bitter, with a lemon swirl.

M - Not bad, medium to high carbonation, easy drinkable.

O - A good drinkable beer, nice fresh and bitter.

I sampled this beer at the brewery and it was the first beer I tried. They brew with old recipes and it should taste like beer from the past.

Appearance was a murky yellow beer with glass-sticking foam.
Smell of sharp lactic acid, some grain, I thought I got some wheat, but this is not in here. This goes more towards a Berliner Weisse, I don't like it.

Taste was also sharp acidic, is this how beers tasted in the past? I am happy that this is not normal anymore. Other tastes are fruity and something grainy. Not much besides the acidity. Aftertaste is light and sharp in the back of my mouth.

BB Jul-06. After opening just litle gushing but being OK for now, nothing spoiled and it resulted in a great presentation with great and lasting foam and a nice amberbrown with reddish taint beercolor. Nose was exceptional; brett, little sournes, very exceptionally fruitestery, good caramellic malts and fine hopnose. Sure this one was infected with brett but woww what a finalbeer it made out of this bottle fermentation. With the foam going up and having a BB far from expiered think it's not gonna be that easy too open when it expieres. Anyway taste is also very fine and special. Malty, litle sour, bretty, fresh and litle bitterness in aftertaste. This is really somthing great. The overcarbonisation harms mouthfeel and tempers drinkabillity but am sure I'm gonna get more from this date!
