modern and tasty sour ale here, modeled rather effectively on the margarita, done with agave and lime, really tangy but also sweet, still beery enough with some pale wheat malt it seems in support, some body to it, and while it might not be the most refined thing in the world, its still drinkable and refreshing and distinctive, and it approximates the cocktail real well. this isnt pretty beer, its thicker than it needs to be, murky hazy and without holding any real head, i thought it might be a bit more attractive, but a lot of beers in this style look like this, whatever, it smells and tastes awesome, real lime for sure and lots of it, some bitterness from zest and pith, white florals with it, and the sweet earthy agave there as well. minerals like this could be salted, but its not salty as such, but the sourness is enough to work it towards dry, lactic and with more pucker than the lime brings on its own, but they go great together and arent too much, like i happily had a few cans in a sitting, its not a one and done sour type. the lime is dominant but there is grain here too, could be unmalted wheat it has that grain stew texture, but there is still an uplifting brightness to this because of the piquant lime. agave is a cool touch but its subtle in the flavor, even at temperature. the carbonation is really lacking in this, its not quite still but its missing the life i want it to have. if this were a little lighter in body, maybe in alcohol too, and had high carbonation it would absolutely rule for summer. love the flavors here and the overall boldness it has while still staying beery, but its a few small tweaks from its full potential...
