There’s a new Citra sidekick in town... and it’s Simcoe. Our house orange juice-y Citra paired with tropical clementine Simcoe.

Had Citra and... Simcoe poured from slender 12-oz. can, from 4-pk. holder labeled "PKG" on "03/11[/24]," into tulip pint.
Pours light, cloudy gold with 1-finger near-white head, with good retention, leaving some chunky lace down the glass. Big aroma of mild resin and a little Simcoe funk off pour, then sweet citrus and mild lime aromas, and sweet stone fruit, berry, mild hop spice, pilsner malt and finally tropical fruit aromas as warms. On tasting, begins biting orange citrus, over a light body, then mild pine resin, and growing sweet berry, which carry over a little dry malt into some tropical fruit, before a moderately crisp, just-balanced by the barely-there malt backbone, but mostly multiply-fruity, sweet and slightly-spicy finish.
This beer keeps tossing off new, delicious aromas, almost until the last sip, but translates to a less than compelling, no path not taken, uncertain destination "IPA."
