Poured from aluminum can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger height of white head. The head has a moderate retention, slowly fading over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a caramel sweetness mixed with some aromas of bready smell and a bit of grain. Along with these smells comes some aromas of a light orange smell as well as a little bit of a grassy smell.
Taste – The taste begins a big caramel and bready flavor that creates a base flavor for the brew. Upfront there is also a little bit of a sweeter citrus taste which fades a little bit as the taste advances. All the while, some light earthy and herbal hop tastes come to the tongue, and with just a touch of hay, it leaves one with a malty and sweet, but lightly danked taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side to slightly chewier side in terms of thickness with a carbonation level that is average to low. The slightly thicker feel and lower carbonation is rather nice for the sweeter and bready tastes all while not overpowering the more subtle but balanced hop tastes. Overall it is a pretty good feel.
Overall – A rather more malty and sweet pale ale that has a great drinkability and easy going nature. Not too shabby!!
