The Strangebird IIPA glass provides a vessel to continue this dull gold and densely fogged NEIPA. A 3" fluffy white cloud slowly compresses to a dense pillow, never dissipating. One wide ring of lace forms the top of window mullions below.
Onion grass is quite strong, with garlic in second place and mild melted rubber trailing. Orange zest struggles to be noticed with some success amid the onslaught of strong aromas.
Earthy hops provide spice with shockingly mild garlic (given the aroma), followed by pine tar. This is a West Coast flavor to be sure, however the bitterness is well below West Coast status. Sweetness is pretty high, though still less than the bitterness. Light rubber mixes with grapefruit, both more than a suggestion. The finish is long and mild, ending abruptly with a bitter flourish in the throat.
It has a medium to full body and a lush soft texture. Abv is below expectations. Carbonations is soft and fine. Astringency is another anomaly, being light in the mouth. Residual sugar.
The label lists Columbus and Nelson Savin hops. It is an interesting take on the style, FAR more savory than fruity. The beer is matching the cold damp air, and it is strange that I would like it at all, much less desire a second. Fortunately, the brain won this battle and I moved on to something less abrasive to the senses.

Pours a cloudy yellow. Thick foam. Citrus aroma. Tropical fruit body. Kiwi and papaya. Sweet with a light bitter finish. Interesting flavor. Really good.

On tap at Kix on Main in Canandaigua, NY.
This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like grape skins, pineapple, and melon.
This has a nice zesty bitterness on it, with that classic Nelson grape-like character, with lots of melon as well. It's a pretty standard take on a Nelson-heavy IPA, but done well.
This is light bodied, crisp and clean, and very drinkable.
This was a good choice to order on tap - Rising Storm is slightly in the shadow of Mortalis down the road, but you can't forget about them.

Good NE ipa with an interesting aftertaste making it a 4.25 instead of a 4.5.
