A super rich Imperial Stout with layers of toasted and raw coconut added at multiple times during the brewing process. Plus locally sourced, whole bean, coconut roasted coffee and a dark roast Uganda coffee!

Smells of rich coffee. Very good stout although I might taste a small hint of coconut. Definitely a coffee forward stout but creamy enough not to just take like a cold brew coffee stout. Goes down smooth with hardly any bitterness. Also that 9% is super hidden. Well done. Worth a re-buy.

The pour is very dark brown, becoming black in a Goulden Draak dragon's egg goblet. Three inches of light chestnut head form a creamy and slow, very slow, conversion to rockiness as it settles eventually to pancake batter. Big, puffy clouds of lace cling to the glass.
The aroma is more sweet than bittersweet chocolate, and quickly adds hints of mint before giving way to anise and coconut. Warmth brings out espresso and black berries.
Sweetness is quite high without displacing the roasted bitterness. Coconut and dark chocolate are prominent beginning to end. Notes of mint and fudge bob in and out against roasted malt. Warmth brings out coffee and lactose sweetness, especially in the long, mild finish.
Alcohol is surprisingly well controlled in this dense beer with a whipped cream texture. Carbonation is light and fine.
Wow! Okay, this is a dessert beer. While sweet, it is by no means cloying, and the decadence is eloquently done. It is a sipping beer that will likely pair well with chocolate cake and after dinner conversation.
