This sour IPA combines tart cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate puree with vanilla, lactose, and Mosaic hops to create a flavorful sour that is straight up juice!

This one pours a slightly golden reddish color, with a big head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like all of the things you would expect it to. It smells like straight juice, with a touch of vanilla and acidity on the nose.

Like most heavily fruited sour "IPAs," this doesn't really have any IPA characteristics. The fruits are all well done, though, and it's certainly pretty jammy. I'd possibly want a bit more vanilla here, and for the beer to be a touch more sour.

I do appreciate that this isn't completely smoothie-like, and it's very crisp and clean finishing, with very little lingering acidity.

This is obviously a touch silly, but it's definitely tasty.

This beer is very hazy and dusty, dark pink, as one ought to expect from the three fruit name. A big, puffy, pastel pink head holds three inches for a few minutes. After the head settles, thick patches of lace form on the Spieglau IIPA glass, while a dense pancake batter forms a lid.

Initially, the aroma is strong and soapy. As it fades, the fruits come out in order of pomegranite, cherry and eventually raspberry. Soapiness is a detriment as it hits the nose with each sip, fortunately fading about half way through the glass, allowing the fruit to take center stage.

Very juicy, with sourness and sweetness in balance, though more of a seesaw, where the sweetness dominates then yields to the sourness. Each of the fruits are well featured. Only a hint of bitterness is found in the otherwise long and sweet finish. There was little, perhaps no malt presence.

The body is medium to full with an oily texture. Alcohol is as expected, and the carbonation is fine and modest.

One is more likely to think of this as a fruited wild ale, rather than a variant of IPA. With that understanding, it does fairly well. It is very fruity and refreshing with flavors that in hindsight resemble Hawaiian Punch, without the oppressive sweetness.
