On tap at Rising Storm Brewing in Avon, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like roasted malt, earthy vanilla creaminess, dark chocolate, root-like bitterness, and spicy hops.
This is a really solid black IPA, and old school American style at this point, that you just don’t see very often. It’s richly malty without offering too much sweetness – there’s chocolate, breadiness, and roastiness, with just a touch of creamy sweetness. The hop character is there, adding a spicy and herbal character works very well.
This is medium bodied and pretty creamy, with a really good drinkability.
This is highly enjoyable stuff. It manages the correct balance that I want out of this style.
