Dear beer drinkers of the world,

This is a desperate time for the breweries, restaurants, bars, and liquor stores in your community. With our taprooms and dining rooms closed to the public, we have lost our primary source of revenue. And our staff have lost their incomes.

That’s where you come in -- All Together is a worldwide beer collaboration created to raise support for the industry we love so much. We've invited any brewer, from any corner of the planet to take the same base beer recipe and put their own unique twist on it. The goal is to use that beer to raise support for themselves and their communities. It's an effort to provide relief to those who are struggling.

We are all in this together.

This is my first of many variants on the open-source recipe. It is very hazy (SRM 4-6) mango without highlights. The head is dense and creamy, almost white. After reaching one-half inch, the head quickly falls to a thin veil, leaving a nice coating of fine lace on a Simpli IIPA glass.

Pine and grapefruit open the aroma, along with a fair amount of hemp. Grass follows and orange sherbet builds.

Unsurprisingly, this is a juicy IPA. It is very similar to fresh-squeezed orange juice. Grapefruit and light pine add to a substantial bitterness and secondary sweetness. Bitterness clearly wins the competition, taking a victory lap with mild gum-numbing effect. The finish is long and sharp, with light flavors, primarily all bitter. Warmth reveals lime and mango.

All Together is full bodied and almost dense with a chewy/smooth texture. Alcohol is within expectations. A fizzy carbonation continues long after each sip.

This is a fine IPA, even with the haziness. Aside from the social purpose and community outreach, this beer is nothing particularly special. The cause, however, is definitely worthwhile. It is a beer that can be enjoyed any time you are force to stay home while wishing others well.

This is a fruit-forward IPA that is a tad reminiscent of a mimosa (global pandemic be darned). Thanks Dave!
