On tap at Rising Storm at the Mill in Penfield, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells roasty, slightly smokey, with licorice, and dark chocolate.
This feels a bit more substantial than the style usually is – it’s creamy tasting, with a nice roasty, spicy, and smoky bitterness, and a nice chocolatey creamy finish.
This is medium bodied, crisp and clean, with a really nice drinkability.
I used to really not enjoy this style, but maybe breweries are getting a bit better at it?
