On tap at Rising Storm at The Mill in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like a straightforward, no funny business sort of stout. There’s roast, chocolate, herbal hops and a hint of smoke.
I appreciate the desire to just brew a regular stout here – it’s down the middle, not wildly exciting or anything, but well made. It’s the sort of stout you just drink, and not think too much about it.
This is medium bodied, creamy, with a nice bite on the finish. It’s quite drinkable.
Rising Storm is a brewery that makes a whole lot of IPAs and fruited kettle sours and all that, but they also make really good just regular beer flavored beer.
