Cool vibe, but the brews themselves don't measure up. IPA was below average

a brand new little spot in the burgeoning south broadway hood, a long time in the making, and finally open and pouring. the space is great, conveniently located, cozy inside with a wood highlighted and narrow little taproom in the front, bar on the left some booths on the left, and with a larger seating area in the back among the tanks. its dimly lit and mellow feeling, not super distinct aside from the layout, but relaxed and cool. they had a nice selection of beers, although named in a bit of a copycat fashion (maximus and farmgirl? come on guys, you live in a cave or what?!), but all pretty tasty. some were ambitious and underwhelming such as the brett farmhouse on pears, which has very little mature brett or pear character at all, while others were quite solid even in their simplicity like their czech pils and espresso stout. i liked the beers pretty well overall though, and the dude responsible for them who was also behind the bar was really kind, welcoming, and modest. i think they will do well because of the changing neighborhood alone, but the vibes in here are good and i think the beer will be awesome before long. definitely add it to your south broadway brewery tour!
