32 oz crowler poured into a tulip

A- Black with a two finger mocha head.

S- Roasted malts, smoky, some roasted coffee, touch of caramel malts.

T- Upfront is roasted malts, dark chocolate, some caramel and coffee; finish is a little piney with a ton of smoke.

M- Pretty smooth, smokiness really lingers, medium to full body.

O- This is a decent smoky stout, but the smokiness needs to be dialed in. The upfront flavors and great but the smokiness is almost more ash-like and distracts from the rest of the beer.

Liquid smoke. Found this one to be so bad I had to write a review. Taste was primarily ash and liquid smoke. Slight burnt beef jerky notes. Not at all what I want from a RIS. Maybe if they called it a smoked stout and threw smokey in the description I would maybe rate it higher, but I also wouldn't have ordered it if the description was accurate. Absolutely no mention of smokyness. No real malt flavor behind the smoke. No chocolate under tones. Was with 2 others who ordered the same stout and both concur with me. It was borderline undrinkable. Mouthfeel was watery and too thin for a RIS. Maybe leave a stout out at a house party and drink it after it collects a few cigarette butts if you want to replicate this one.
