Poured from the can into a Spiegeau IPA glass. No can dating.
Deep bronze amber color, with large amounts of carbonation. Giant forming ridiculous head bordering on out of control. Khaki to off white in color, creamy with good uniform bubbles and lots of staying power. There's a tad bit of dark sediment bits as well, but not much.
Aroma is malt forward primarily, but a good one. Light crisp toffee caramel notes, mixing a floral and pine like quality. Hop angle is a bit burried, possibly faded but can't tell from dating.
Palate seems to mark more of an old standard with some minor flaws. Grainy tasting malt bill, almost hints of charred and burnt flour, but manages a touch of sweetness. Large but luckily just tolerable hop bitterness, that gets to wood pine log. Very weak mouthfeel, powder like flour dust, and very wet touches with a watery swallow. Finishes with a light caramel and good pine to almost mint blast.
Definitely more of an old school malt forward IPA, but has a very weak tasting malt and a bit of indistinct hop qualities.
