Shimmering burnt amber to chestnut brown with a short khaki head.
Tons of Jemima syrup explodes all over this beer, so much so that when we walked into the brewery I was wondering if they'd hosted a breakfast earlier this morning. Right up front, there's even a hint of buttery pancake on the nose. As I get acquainted with it, I also notice touches of dark toast and a hint of black cherry.
The smooth body has a lightly crisp carbonation and finishes semi-dry, not sticky at all. It's actually rather drinkable, despite the seeming explosion of maple at first blush. It becomes more rounded out after that first push.
Overall this is a solid and unique Xmas ale.

On tap 07/27/18 @ Missing Mountain Brewing Company. Really wanted to like this , but too much gingerbread, sickly sweet aftertaste. Smells unpleasantly like a Xmas candle. Undrinkable.
