Appearance: Draft pint in D.C. 1-2mm of grain colored head on the rim only. Zero lacing. Dark brown and only slightly translucent.
Aroma: Minimal. Chocolate, nuts, and malt.
Taste: Malt forward with a combination of semisweet and milk chocolate. Nuttiness reminiscent of pecans and hazelnuts.
Feel: Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel.
Overall: Not a complex or surprising beer. But if you’re looking for a nut brown ale, you can’t go wrong here.

Deep brown appearance with an average size beige head and a fair amount of lacing. Subtle aroma; not much scrum but enough of the hooker to keep things interesting. Flavor is more expansive. Roasted malts provide a springboard for cocoa, nuts and brown bread. Bittersweet aftertaste Medium bodied, modestly carbonated mouthfeel with a lingering finish.

Very dark brown body with a plump oatmeal brown head. Malty nose with nuts and earth supporting. Taste has wonderful coffee, toffee brown malts, earth and a touch of light leather and nuts, sneaky complex. As it warms it starts to become less cohesive. Feel is percolated with a darker toned roast, malts smoothen out through the sip, sneaky viscous and rich for style. Some sips I loved this one, others I rebounded to ok, left overall with good

12oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, foamy beige head fades fast. Aroma is lightly roasted malts, nutty. Taste mirrors the aroma, mild bitterness at the finish. Light woody notes throughout.

Deep, dark, mahogany body, clear in character yet nearly opaque in the glass; nice thick head, rich and creamy. Fine, subdued malt nose; lightly sweet with a touch of dark roasted grain. Lightly roasted grain flavor; delicately sweet; low-key hop bitterness; subtle cocoa. Smooth, rich texture; medium body; more dry overall than sweet.
Slightly better than the sum of its parts, this is an easy drinking, mildly malt-forward in character, smooth and refreshing.
Poured at 52 °F; canned 07/20/21
