The golden amber pour has a nice haze to it, with a creamy white-colored head that leaves behind a solid wall of lacing. Aroma wise, it's closer to an old-school IPA with a focus on grass, pine, and grapefruit. A good old-school IPA, though. The malt backbone smells decently strong while offering notes of table sugar, biscuit, and a touch of caramel. It seems a little lighter actually tasting it. I get initial touches of lychee, strawberry, and pineapple, before it transitions into grassy, piny flavors near the finish. The malt backbone is biscuity and slightly sweet, peaking around the mid-taste. It's a bit one note and simple, but ultimately acceptable. It has a slightly yeasty/chalky feel as well (especially once the dregs are poured in), but the texture isn't quite creamy enough to compensate. Still, it goes down easily enough, helped by the medium carbonation. Ehhh...it's fine. Not amazing or even great, but it gets the job done. There are other local options I'd pick over this one.
