I'm not a fan of sweet stouts or porters, so this beer is right up my alley. The predominant characteristics are smoky and peaty. There is malt character as well, but it doesn't overwhelm. It is truly sessionable, which is not what I expected. This is the only offering I have tried from True Respite, but I'm very impressed.

Light black body with brown speckling with medium brown large head. Smells of mild chocolate cereal in a decently roasted dry stout. Taste is too sweet for style, cocoa and almost a brown sugar note pushing through the mild roasted malt and dark grain, breaks down by the finish. Feel is soft and smooth but very light, doesn't dry out as much as others in the style. Would much rather have guinness
