One of our favorite releases of all time, "Bobcat" is also one of the highest-rated Euro-style Dark Lagers in the world
This Czech-style Dark Lager from our #AnimalLagerSeries features an assortment of dark and specialty malts that present as milk chocolate, dried fig, and subtle roast without much roasty bitterness.
There may not be a better beer for watching football as the weather gets crisp and the leaves start to turn

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour yields a foamy beige head, which fades quickly. Nutty, chocolaty aroma, root beer. Taste features light roasted malts, minor sweetness. Bitter and dry finish.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very dark, lightly hazy, mahogany brown with little light transmission and a quarter finger light khaki head that dissipates to sparse patches with sparse lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, chocolate, coffee and dates. Flavor is dark toasted malt, dry malt, dark chocolate, coffee and dark dried fruit, particularly in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A great, full flavored dark lager with the chocolate and malt I expect from the style. The flavor is a bit light at first, but builds during the taste until a very pleasant, malty and chocolate finish. There is a rich malt flavor that almost approaches umami, that I found very inviting. Although I usually go straight to porters and stouts when I have a hankering for dark malt, this tmave pivo style is quite flavorful for the ABV and should be my go-to style for lighter dark lagers. This one is well made and convinces me I need to visit this style more often.
