A: Served an amber color with a small head that faded quickly to bits of lacing.

S: Mild aroma of sweet malt and some citrus.

T: Nice malty taste with a bit of fruit. There is a mild bitterness with a clean finish.

F: Fairly light body, smooth but a bit bland.

O: Decent unoffensive beer. I was hoping for a bit more.

 

Poured out with a copper red color and a half inch head. Head disapates to a thick whisp. Carbonation is even and moderate. Grainy malts and fuggle hops come to the nose. What smells good does not always taste good. Grains taste spoiled and overcooked. Hop back is lemony and cannot save the malt. Mouthfeel is acrid and thin. No I will not have another. Bad craft brew. BTW I am drinking at the Cannon.

Appearance: A nice-looking amber red, slightly on the light side, crisp and transparent with a mild amount of slow, large carbonation. The single finger of dull head fades quickly and leaves little semblance of stick, lace, or collar, though.

Aroma: Slight buttery notes mingle with caramel and toffee, as well as some dryer toasty notes and a few fruity overtones which I'm not sure about.

Taste: Tons of buttery diacetyl mingles with heavy toffee to suggest butterscotch. Some steely, metallic malts provide a little more depth, but it's not exactly enjoyable depths. If there're hops here, I'm not tasting them. Tannin-like notes in places, suggesting tea, but not the kind I'd want to drink. A slight chemical-esque note in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Decent, though there's not much to salvage above that I'd actually want presented by a quality mouthfeel. A fair amount of carbonation in a thicker body that's borderline sticky at points, though never really fully crosses the line until it's been sitting for a while.

Drinkability: Decidedly sub-par, and my least favorite of the lineup I tried this evening. I actually found it somewhat difficult to finish a pint of this, and would recommend against ordering it - there are much, much better ambers out there, and I'm saying that objectively as someone who's not a huge fan of the style but still knows a good beer when I taste one.

Had this beer on tap at the brewpub, ,and poured an amber hue with a 1 1/2 finger white head.

The smells were of pale malt and a bit of hops. The taste had a pale malt body with a bit of caramel sweetness, though not much. The hop flavor was light and the bitterness light/medium. The consistency was thin to medium with a medium carbonation.

A decent beer overall, but basically your average American Amber.

it had an awesome color and smell, but other than that it was just another beer. nothing that really impressed me. the taste from what i remember was ordinary. it was drinkable, but i would rather go with the speedloader. which was the seasonal, and the next round. :)

Appearance: Clear, orangey-copper body with a thin, off-white head.

Smell: Fairly faint aroma of flowers and a vague pale maltiness.

Taste: More of that mild pale maltiness with only a hint of sweetness. Floral, spicy hops with a mild bitterness, though all quite light. Clean finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Somewhat watery mouthfeel.

Drinkability: A tolerable brewpub amber ale.

Pours a deep ruby red with a small, off-white head. Not much in the way of aroma because it comes out of the tank pretty cold. Some sweet malt, a touch of citrus. Rich, sweet malty taste, slightly offset by some floral hops and an underlying fruitiness (grapes, plums). A little thin on the palate. Good session beer.
