Stopped in for just a pint this afternoon and got corralled by the brewer, who insisted I try his new imperial stout. Damn him.
Pours a deep, inky black topped by a gorgeous creamy tan head. Nice cascading on the nitro pour (made moreso by a careful two-stage pour). Aroma of roasted malt, some anise, and a touch of alcohol. Palate is deep, rich, and very complex. Slightly sweet roasted malt and a touch of lactose come up front, followed by some balancing from the hops. The finish is delayed by a few seconds, with all sorts of flavors coming through. Vanilla bean, bourbon, faint licorice, and a bit of grass get rolled in with a nice warming sensation from the alcohol. Mouthfeel is creamy and rich, very nice. A slow sipper, but a truly enjoyable beer that I can safely say is the best ever (commercially) produced in Columbus, Georgia.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
