8oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver Square. Always nice to encounter a new offering from this Cowtown brewing concern.

This beer appears a hazy, medium banana yellow colour, with one skinny finger of weakly puffy, bubbly, and wispy off-white head, which leaves some decent streaky webbed lace around the glass as things slowly sink away.

It smells of bready and grainy cereal malt, some mild Belgian yeastiness, faint domestic citrus rind, and some tame earthy, musty, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, fairly phenolic yeast, acrid orange and white grapefruit peel, and more understated herbal, leafy, and floral verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-assuring frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, with the yeast starting to behave a bit better at this particular juncture. It finishes trending dry, the hops and yeast in a lingering death match.

Overall - this is a pretty true to form version of this hybrid style, with the Low Countries yeasty character invading a good and hoppy base IPA. Still not my favourite thing to sip on, but I can admit quality when I see it, and honey, Imma seeing it here.
