Heliotrope Pale Ale is a Fall & Winter seasonal ale brewed to a glorious roasted gold with Marris Otter, Oat Malt, Spelt, and a dash of various roasted wheats and barley. Hopped with Athanum, Centennial and Glacier that give delicate aromas of woodsy spruce and cedar with subtle accents of herbs, grapefruit and lemon. With a generous mouthfeel and balanced spine, the beer feels like a bit of throwback to when the West Coast was taking inspiration from the great ales of the English midlands.

This one pours a muddy brown-ish green color, with a small head, and not much lacing. This does not look right.
This smells like stale malt, oxidiation, and lightly fruity hops.
This seems to have gone wrong in the can at some point - it tastes pretty viciously oxidized to me. Hopefully they can figure out what happened here, as the description make this sound pretty intriguing to me. The beer just tastes stale and unintended.
This is light bodied, and not very drinkable at all.
I need to give these guys another chance at some point, this can't be the way they meant for this one to be.
