Copperhead is our American Amber Ale. We use crystal malts and a hint of black patent malts to achieve the traditional coloring and malt characteristic. It is topped off with a touch of dry hop to exhibit mild flavors of spicy pine and citrus. We hope this beer provides a swift and spicy bite like the snake we named it after, but also a balanced flavorful finish that comes in soft and peaceful, much like a walk through the Connecticut forest it occupies.

Poured from a pint can into a Nonic pint glass. Body of the beer is copper colored, with a caramel colored head, three fingered deep, with excellent lacing. Aroma is yeasty, with a malty sub-texture from the roasted crystal malts First sip is all about the maltiness, some sweetness but a clean hoppy finish. Good amber ales seem harder to find these days, and this offering from Tox is excellent!

Canned 3/15/23; drank 6/28/23 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque copper appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; decent lacing remained.

Autumn leaf, mild brown sugar & faint caramel notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Dry leaves & a hint of cream on the palate.

Smelled better than it tasted, but it's drinkable.

Nearly brown color where light shines through easily. Huge beige head which leaves some chunky lace.

Strong caramel aroma, semidry. Autumny smells.

The flavor is also caramelly and a bit more sweeter. Quite sweet which makes the beer rich. The carbonation is diminished. Everything is wrapped around the malt flavors, similar to a darker Oktoberfest. I could not tease out any notable hop bitterness. Short aftertaste.

16oz can pours a hazy deep brownish orange color with a small cap of off-white head that fades to a thin layer while leaving lacing. Smell is crisp with faint notes of toasted bread and some hops. Flavor has a lot of toasted bread notes and spicy hops that lend something of a sharp and sour flavor to the beer. Some red fruit notes, caramel notes, and a slight sweetness are also present. Light to medium body with a low carbonation mouthfeel. The hop bitterness definitely has a "bite" to it and trails into a somewhat unpleasant sour finish.

Decent beer, but the aftertaste is less than desirable for me.

Poured from a 16oz can stamped 03/18/23 to a Nonic at fridge temp.
This beer closely resembles a rootbeer float. Puffy tan head fighting the rim of the glass, check. Dark brown body with bubbles, check. Head fades within minutes but laces well throughout the session, check.
The aroma is strong on the malt as expected.
The taste is also heavy on the malt, burnt caramel, rye bread. Happily for me it is not overly sweet. Despite the strong malt hops can be tasted on the back end, drying everything out.
The mouthfeel is medium to light.
This is surprisingly good.
