We got together with a our friends at Skygazer again to brew a fun and experimental follow up to our collaboration Water Lily. Starting as a hybrid combination of our individual kettle soured series, Water Colors, and Lily of the Valley, we decided to swing this one in the opposite direction towards tropical town. Water Lily 2 has a thick body and big tropical notes kicking off with huge pineapple with passion fruit and mango to follow. The white chocolate and coconut provide and subtle comforting finish, especially as you let it warm. It reminds us of a pineapple and coconut rub cocktail, what about you?!

Great head production, but it very quickly disappears. Body is pulpy, cloudy, opaque, and a dark orange color tinged with brown.
Super strong and crazy aroma, earthy and pungent, but equally juicy and sweet. Pineapple and coconut take the lead, along with passion fruit, mango, and vanilla. Just a bit of tartness, but it smells more like a fruit beer than a sour of any kind.
That impression is certainly reinforced on the palate, where there is very little sourness aside from the very natural fruit flavors. Incredible blend of fruit, very earthy, like you're seriously chewing on chunks of pineapple and coconut. The chocolate is very complementary, adding another layer to the flavor - along with the vanilla - without really standing out on its own. All of the fruit really come to play, although the standouts for me are the pineapple and coconut.
This might more properly be considered a fruit and field beer than a sour, but it's damn tasty, an incredible melange of a huge blend of ingredients. I'm very impressed.
