Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my .5 L dimple mug. Picked up at the brewery in New London this weekend. Glad to see the style.
The beer pours a cola brown color with some fluffy beige colored head of 1.5 cm. this foam fades fairly quickly to nothing in my glass a few active streams of carbonation try to reform, but dont succeed.
Aroma is some toffee, brown sugar and light chocolate notes. Not really much hops, but maybe a little grass. No hints of the booze on the aroma. Pretty clean and straight forward aroma.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with smooth and very drinkable texture. Carbonation is very fine and gently rolls across my palate.
Flavor is similar to nose, brown sugar and chocolate mix with a bit of a cola flavor here and some grassy hop balance on the finish. Never any booze and my mug is empty very quickly.
Nice easy drinking malt forward brew, very glad to have picked this one up and enjoying the beer. worth the grab!
