This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like creamy coffee, maple candy, vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted malt, and a light hit of bourbon.
Even though this is about a year old, the coffee flavor is still dynamite. It’s vibrant, chocolatey, and spicy, with a touch of fruitiness. The maple is subtle and doesn’t make it too sweet, and this is overall just a really pleasantly creamy and well-balanced barrel aged stout. There’s not a ton of barrel, but it sort of ties everything together with a little spot of oakiness at the very end.
This is quite thick and creamy, but not syrupy, with very little booziness to it.
Tox is quietly doing some excellent stuff.
