Dark amber, ruby brown color. Minor head (a single finger) that fades quickly but lasts in a diminished fashion. Some wider but shorter streaks on the glass.
Light brown sugar aroma. Even lighter alcohol. Some brown bread, but overall a weaker smell.
A bit dryer on the tongue but the flavor retains the brown sugar/molasses. The alcohol is muted comparatively as well. No Belgian yeast tastes but the body is appropriately rich with a lower carbonation level. Malty finish leads to a shorter aftertaste.
Overall, it's missing some of the expectations but it's still a tasty pleasant beer.
