Chocolate Moustache boasts a complex seven grain malt bill and is deep ebony in color with rich velvety chocolate aromatics and flavors. This Imperial Stout is brewed with TCHO roasted Ghana and Ecuador cacao nibs. and Madagascar vanilla. So rich. So decadent. Sure to please anyone that loves chocolate as much as they love beer.

Digging back in my cellar, I opted for an Imperial Stout. I have a few variants of the Moustache that I will review this coming week. I opted for a tulip glass, and the serving temperature is 50 degrees. The pour created a creamy, dark tan one-fingered head with fair retention. The color is pitch black with dark rusty mahogany hues, opaque, and charts at an SRM 34. The appearance of the beer is average for this style.
Nosing the beer, I noticed milk chocolate, mixed with dark chocolate, coffee, dark roasted malts, malty sweetness, molasses, raisins, and vanilla. I usually can pull out other aromas, but chocolate dominates the palate, and it is hard to smell anything else.
The first sip reveals chocolate that is dark with a mix of milk, and the chocolate is of higher quality than Hershey's. Sipping the glass, I can taste light char, caramel, molasses, raisins, toasted sugar, malty sweetness, dark roasted malts, toasted pumpernickel bread, and vanilla.
The mouthfeel is thick and chewy, finishing with a creamy smooth texture. The body is medium-plus and has a low amount of carbonation.
Final Thought: The beer is rich in chocolate with a substantial malt bill. Overall, it was tasty; I would have enjoyed it much more if it had not been so sweet.

Moustaches are fine. Like, just because you have one, it doesn’t make you cool or anything. And then if you don’t, like, same thing, ya know? Whatever works for him or her (Raul doesn’t judge). Along with that, chocolate is nice. I think it makes people happy. That said, Urban Roots put them together and made this thang. And? Whatever. It’s not stinky like poor Junior in my 4th grade class who, well, was stinky. But it’s definitely also not something to remember. Too sweet to be delicious… And speaking of “delicious,” I once worked with a guy who ended up getting that as a nick name. Good times (until they weren’t).
