Canned 15 April 2021, from John's Marketplace.
A clear deep orange with a dense white head with excellent retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is intriguing. A little bigger than most maibocks, with a delicate, rich, doughy bread character, floral hops, mildly minty. Faint oak notes. Really soft and well rounded. The palate opens with a blend of delicate sweetness and a definite hop bite. The malt character is really rich and deep, with caramel, bread, dough, a little cotton candy. The oak lends a soft, creamy, supple bite. The hops are firm and biting, lending an earthy finish. The mouthfeel is a little thin with an acidity that's part carbonation and part tannins present, that disrupts the lovely malt character. Solid stuff.
