Unfiltered rustic Pilsner.
Pours from the can with exceptional clarity and a prominent billowy cap of foam.
I’m getting a grassy snap with a light biscuit toast. Drying finish brings it all together.

Another score from Urban Roots. Smell the summertime grilling.
Pours a clear golden color familiar as beer. Good job on the clarity and the head peaks out just over 1", white, good retention. Its a looker. The aroma has some lager yeast notes, slightly different, the word hamster is trying to get out. Straw, grain, yeast. Hops noticeably minimal, going the traditional route I surmise.
The taste is much the same way. There is a light woody hamster shaving presence, damn that name is just going all psychosomatic on me or whatnot. This must be an experiment in word association. It drinks heavier than its appearance, but its not like, helles heavier in terms of breadiness, there is like I said, something different than "MOAR grain" its like, I dunno. Think of like, not wet, but humid wood. Humidor. But its light, and the yeast still pushes the most flavor.
Enjoyable all the way around. Had something unique going for it. Didn't do the IPL thing. Solid summer choice even if its nothing special compared to some of their banger lagers.

Can from Uptown Market.
A mostly clear light straw yellow with a dense white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. the nose is decidedly rustic with a raw, grainy note, mildly wort-like, with honey, toast, livened by a mild lemon note. Mint and a little earth are also present. The palate opens mildly bitter with an earthy, lemony bitterness, lightly herbal and coupled with a prominent doughy, mildly grainy malt character, faintly nutty and mildly biscuit like. A delicate sweetness that I associate with open fermented and unfiltered lagers is also present. Drying, bitter on the finish with a nice lemon flavor, delicately sweetened with honey, is present. Carbonation is a little high, lending a rough texture, but otherwise, this is a very tasty beer.

I had no reason to get this beer. I have never heard of this brewery before, and then the name “Comfort Hamster” doesn’t really speak to Raul like Carmen Electra did in the 90’s, ya know? That being said, I’m more open to trying a new to me Pilsner or Lager than Jerry Rice is when catching a long bomb. Conclusion? Not bad. Drinkable. Wouldn’t mind downing another if that’s all that there was.
So, yeah… I’m open to trying new things like Jerry is open when he crosses the middle of the field - but I also would not call this one a Jerry Rice beer. Think more Terrell Owens before he went bankrupt.
Peace!
