Polotmavý Czech style lager
Polotmavý is a rather obscure Czech style Lager but it is also incredibly delicious. This beer features spicy and grassy notes from the use of 100% Czech grown Saaz with a toasty, bready and malty body courtesy of the higher kilned malts all while finishing crisp like a Pilsner.
But what does Polotmavý mean? We’re glad you asked.
Polo means “half” and tmavé (or tmavý) means “dark” so this beer is Half Dark (or Amber) Lager.
The bigger malt body and slightly higher alcohol than in our 10º Czech style lager makes this the perfect beer to drink during this transition from the cold winter into spring.

Dark honey colored body with exceptional clarity; moderate carbonation; thick, lasting head, sculpted and creamy textured; sticky, broken strings of foam stick to the glass. Bright note of honey and caramel in the nose; a pinch of floral character. Outstanding taste of toffee and caramel; fairly low-key bitterness supporting the sweetness; mildly herbal and grassy. Medium-heavy body; lightly velvet-like; gentle warmth.
This beer has a fine, toasted malt character with a rich flavor and lager smoothness.

This one was like a damsel in distress. Yeah, Raul heard a dame screaming from atop of a flaming building like “The Towering Inferno,” and he decided that he needed to save her. Now, 11° may not be the ultimate hottie in the complex, but it’s still a hottie. So soar to the rescue Raul did! And everyone was happy. The end.

Can from John's Marketplace.
A clear light amber with a dense, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing, this gushed and made a mess in my kitchen. The nose is beautiful- soft, toasty, caramel and light toffee, bready and rustic. Mildly hoppy with soft lemon notes. Clean as a whistle. The palate opens soft and creamy with a pleasant sweetness, a blend of honey, caramel, toffee, an almost carapils-like malt note. Clean, smooth, ridiculously easy drinking and gorgeous flavor. Rustic finish. Most excellent.

Can pour - clear deep gold color with thick white head leaving scattered frosty lacing. Nose is biscuity malt sweetness with a hint of citrus. Taste follows with a clean and crisp finish. Excellent warm weather quaffer.

Sweet caramel/honey bread malty and hint of lemon zesty nose on this one! Taste follows with a super clean and soft, honey malty, and hint of lemon citrus finish. So well executed...another outstanding lager from Urban Roots! Absolutely delicious! So crushable!
