This review takes us back to Spring 2024 and grilling some pork chops over charcoal on a beautiful day.
The beer pours into a Stone Ruination IPA pint glass and has ample clarity in its golden body and a puffy 3/5" white head. Quite attractive all around. I believe this YQH 1320 hop is now named Elani. I wouldn't say there is anything super discernable about this hop compared to many others, but especially the Centennial and El Dorado that join it in this beer.
Usual hits of tropical and citrus notes, I found the stone fruit aspect to be minimal. A touch of pine, pineapple, light Strata like berry and weed note.
The taste is nice, hops aside, the minimal but brisk and bright barley contribution was well done and allowed the hop aspects to shine with minimal interference. Where Centennial can sometimes come across slightly woody and bogging down a beer, this avoided that and remained crisp and vegetal comparatively. Bitterness in the mouthfeel rolled right in the desired zone, firm, but not excessive. Cool beer, I'll keep my eyes out for this hop in the future.

Can dated 01/12/23 into an imperial tulip pint.
Really potent watermelon notes immediately after the pour, but they fade quite quickly. Nose is pleasant balance of earthy pine notes, rind citrus fruits, and subtle undertones of mango. Taste profile follows the nose, finishing with restrained bitterness and light astringency.
Low-medium volume with medium carbonation, fairly light and crisp on the tongue and swallow.
Quite enjoyed this beer. Looking forward to see how YQH-1320 is used in the future.
