Here's yet another selection emanating from March Madness 2024. Cool label reminiscent of Cigar City's Endless Nameless. Pours black into that little Marquette taster glass. Makes a thin brown/beige head. 1/6" scaled.
Aroma hits a deep chocolate, brownie batter, heavy sweet bourbon. Taste finds a layered approach navigating the waters between a heavy bourbon presence, roasted yet mildly sweet burnt barley, baker's chocolate, toffee, caramel, hitting the cacao note without resorting to sugariness. For its heavy alcohol presence, it drinks so much easier than the big number around 15%. Its a thick boy best shared even from the 375ml bottle. The heat is perceptible for sure, but it pretty much waits until you've chilled on everything else going on before it reminds you, "hey, this is a bad boy, don't let it fool you."
Urban roots continues to show its skills run the gamut of beer and food styles, much like a combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. . .

Poured at fridge temp. Pours motor oil black with a thin layer of brown head. The nose is big roasted malts, honey, chocolate, black licorice, vanilla, bourbon, and a bit of toffee. The taste is incredible. Big chocolate, dark fruit, roasted malts, a touch of maple, molasses, honey, vanilla, burnt toffee, and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is pretty creamy and thick. Overall, a really nice stout.
