the coastline in depoe bay is beautiful, the little harbor is lovely, but all the tourist junk shops make this area kind of gross to me, like the strip lacks a soul, so i am thankful for this little spot, a cozy little brewpub right at the end by the bridge overlooking the harbor and offering up a nice mix of house made beers. the downstairs feels more like a diner than a bar, although there is a long bar running down the center of it, part if that may be the cooler full of desserts the have when you walk in next to the beer to go cooler, but they have lots of windows and a great view of the boats below, lots of natural light, and as sparse as it is, its also kind of cozy. upstairs is more of the classic pub feel, a nice bar in the middle, a big dining room, sort of a charthouse vibe. we sat downstairs at a window, had friendly and fun service, and enjoyed some pints. for me the irish stout was the best, but a tropical pale and a baltic porter were also solid, and somewhat more ambitious than expected for a place like this, sometimes the tourist town brewers keep it way too simple, but there is some fun stuff on the menu here. in terms of food its pretty standard with a big of a seafood focus, things seemed homemade, but i just had popcorn shrimp and they hit. not a ton of atmosphere here really, felt a little sterile, but we were there after lunch and before dinner so maybe just a weird time to be in. i like the views and the beer was good, no reason not to stop back when we are here again next summer. the beer is worth it.
