From the growler (and the last of it---we blew it!) at DEPS in NKY.
This excellent imperial pours a rich oily black with a decent head of
brown foam that settles to a thin ring and sports some light sudsy lacing.
nose of toasted bourbon, vanilla, earthy roasted malts, dark chocolate fudge,
and oak. Flavors exceed the nose with aplomb. Bourbon and char notes surround
a body of cold pressed coffee and dark bittersweet chocolate that mingles with
vanilla and marshmallow fluff that got in a tussle with oak and dark
molasses. Earthy malt notes appear more with warmth showing some
delicious depth. Excellent mouth feel; full body, warming, low
carbonation, and a subtly dry boozy finish.
Overall, this one could win awards in shows if entered.
Excellent. Was glad for the tweet that it was available in a
growler from the brewery.
Cheers
Of note a portion of the sales goes to Wounded Warrior and
Deep Sea Valkyries. Nice!
